Meanwhile, Caltech seismologist Lawrence (Giamatti) and his Dr. Kim Park (Will Yun Lee) are at the Hoovermaking a breakthrough in when an unknownnearby ruptures, triggering a magnitude 7.1 earthquake which collapses the dam, killing Park in the process, but he gave his life when he saved a girl.
